 rootkit scan?
so i had a lil virus that sent spam to all the people in my email list... i formated since then but now i still keep getting ip blocked from malwarebytes, usualy when i surf the web mostly on the google webpage. i did bunch of scans (remember it,s pretty much fresh install of windows 7, scanned malwarebytes, spybot, nod32, prevx csi, online eset scan and online bitdefender) and all were clean.
I looked a bit into the ip blocks from malwarebytes and it seem normal to have some from time to time but im getting this ip all the time. i read somewhere about someone who had similar problem and it was some sort of spam cookie and he did a rootkit scan and it fixed it. so here we go i dunno what a rootkit scan is, anyone can help me with this? or if anyone know of what could be causing this ...

 Re: rootkit scan?
rootkit is a virus. It's sniffing information from your computer and using it to do X withouth you knowing. But in code and technically speaking is not the same as a worm or a trojan. Just go to your favourite sdownloads site and get a rootkit cleaner.

 Re: rootkit scan?
rootkits are what i used to use to initially compromise a computer to set up IRC bots. like remo said not a trojan or worm but do essentially the same thing.

 Re: rootkit scan?
Rootkits tend to monitor your activity too, meaning they will steal cpu usage so its best to get rid of them even if they are not doing much. Are you using win7-vista-xp? Try AVG in the meanwhile.
