I would probably go with this over the gigabyte, lifetime warranty on EVGA parts rocks and they have wicked customer support. I had a dead video card that NewEgg wouldn't take back cus some sticker was missing and so I had to RMA it thru EVGA and shit went extremely well.

Re: Finally upgrading
Hey Dave, I spoke to travis last night and he told me that ATI is pretty much the way to go for cards. Hes a GeForce guy so he doesn’t know which to pick exactly, suggestions? Price range 250$. Thanks man

It seems like the Radeon 5830 is the card in your price range, but I'm not sure if your board has crossfire, I haven't looked too much into your other parts.

Re: Finally upgrading
I'd get something in the 5k series if I was upgrading - Luke and I were talking about this on vent the other day. The high end 5000 series cards are pushing $300 and up.
If you can swing the extra $ I'd go 5830 / 5870, or another option would be 2 5770's in crossfire..... (I'd have to look at exact specs etc).

I like EVGA as well but the overclocking utility and the usb 3.0 is selling me on the gigabyte, not to mention the better chipset cooling.
If EVGA got their new board out sooner w/ usb 3.0 i'd get it.

Re: Finally upgrading
FYI, used Sapphire most of my life, currently have 2 4870's in the house, 1 Sapphire and 1 DIAMOND. Never had an issue with the Sapphire, RMA'd my 2950 after I fucked up something trying to get the fan off and they gave me the 4870 as a replacement

Re: Finally upgrading
Thats because they know their cards are crap so they have to send you a decent one.
my buddy had a nightmare experience with his 8800gt xfx and it's warranty so i won't do it.. I don't mean to keep disagreeing with you vinnie but after much reading it seems most people are having better experiences with the sapphires.. I will say this though.. the aesthetics do seem very nice on the XFX
